Recon VND/PL Overview + Installation/Setup
What is the Difference between Black and Gold Mist
Can I connect Recon to any thread size other than 82mm?
Recon can be connected to any lens with a thread size smaller than 82mm. You will just need a step up ring to adapt your smaller lens to accept an 82mm Filter.
Whats the difference between Black Mist and PolarPro's other Mist Filters?
The Black Mist utilizes black particles inside the glass which retain color depth and blacks in your shadows. PolarPro's other Mist filters are white mist which creates halation over highlights and shadows.
Whats the difference between Gold Mist and Black Mist?
The Gold Mist utilizes Gold particles inside the glass which will bloom highlights a warmer tone. Most highlight halation and rolloff will have gold hues, its a vibe. The Gold Mist Filters have a stronger diffusion effect than the Black Mist Filters.
How Do I connect the Recon MatteBox to my lens?
The Recon Base Filters thread directly onto a size 82mm lens thread. The Matte Box Hood and Recon Stage 2 Filters connect to said Recon Base.
Why does the recon go past 6 Stops?
Recon goes past 6 stops so you can push the VND to 7 stops on lenses above 35mm Focal Lengths. If you use anything past 6 stops below 35mm Focal lengths you will get cross polarization.
Do Recon Base or Stage 2 Filters Vignette?
No, so long as your stage 2 filters are properly installed vertically.
