FAQ

What's the difference between the BaseCamp and Summit systems?

BaseCamp is designed for cinema and video applications, while Summit focuses on professional photography such as landscape and long exposure work.

Does BaseCamp allow me to use Diffusion, Streak, and VND filters all at the same time?

No. All VND filters (hybrid and traditional) rely on the BaseCamp CP to work. The BlueMorphic and GoldMorphic filters would take the place of the CP, so they are not compatible with the VNDs simultaneously.

Can I use the BaseCamp Gradient Filters in the standard Core?

No, our Gradient filters (ND4-GR & ND8-GR) are too large for the Core. They require the Stage 3 Adapter for use.

Will I be able to use the Diffusion Filters simultaneously with the VND configuration?

Yes! You can either use one of our Mist VNDs, or use the Stage 3 Adapter to install the Mist or Mist Heavy filter in front of the standard BaseCamp VNDs.

Can I use BaseCamp with wide-angle lenses like my Nikon 14-24mm?

BaseCamp is compatible with wide angle lenses that have threaded filter mounts or have an outer diameter compatible with one of our clamp rings sizes. The Nikon 14-24mm does not have filter threads so it won't work with BaseCamp.
