LightLeak Tech Overview

LightLeak Setup/Installation

Is the lens manual or auto focus?

It is a manual lens with a fixed focal distance and fixed aperture.

Why doesnt my cameras shutter release with this lens installed?

You need to set your camera to "release shutter without lens". Each camera model has this setting, we recommend doing a Youtube search to find your specific instructions.

Do all the LightLeak Lenses produce the same look?

Each LightLeak Lens was designed to produce a unique look, so the 16mm is going to vary greatly from the 50mm. This allows you to shoot the same subjects with completely different looks.

Can I use filters on these lenses?

Yes, the Canon RF and Nikon Z Lenses use 67mm filters. The Fuji X and Sony E Lenses use 58mm filters.

Why does the lens look different between my Sony and Canon Cameras?

The LightLeak Lenses react differently to each sensor and camera setup, making image rendition truly unique. Each camera sensor may capture different color light leaks and your camera settings will also alter the way your camera reacts to each scene.
